Got Me a Wagon

As it is time for my bi-annual blog posting: I had to prioritize the content of this post. Therefore, I feel it is imperative to inform you all that I am now the proud owner of a 2006 Subaru Forester--aka, a Glorified Station Wagon.

If you're familiar with Veggie Tales, the Sport Utility Vehicle song might be sprouting in your mind:

"I like your car..."
" I like yours too..."
"Is it a Jeep?"
"A Subaru."
"How's it handle?"
"Like a dream!"

That's right---grocery bag hooks in the back, L.L Bean interior complete with wood veneer steering wheel, bike racks, and mossy green/khaki exterior....

I'm approaching 33, living in rural Amish country (in a log cabin!), knitting, and I drive a wagon with 2 car seats in the back...

WHO HAVE I BECOME??????

Well, lest you think I'm depressed: I'm not :)  Nor am I hermit, holed up and  hiding from the rest of the world.   But I am finding joy in the irony of where God has currently brought me in this life!    It's been a journey, but I have found that surrendering myself to His will means that I have to trust Him--even if He leads me to a station wagon!

And, my friends, there is joy and thrill to be found driving around on county roads in an L.L Bean Edition station wagon.

My life may not be thrilling in the way that as a teenager I dreamt it would be, but I am in a place of peace and complete dependence on my Maker.   My faith is stronger than ever and God is using dorky old me to share His love in my mistakes and in His grace.  This is the season I'm in.

Joy, pure Joy (said with a contented sigh, not a sarcastic grimace!)....

I get excited thinking about the adventures that are about to ensue and the dots that will be connected.

Oh, yeah---and the wagon features a huge sunroof :)

Beep, beep!
